September 2006 – A&N Awarded Sub-Contract by Health Systems Research, Inc. A&N Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce its award of a sub-contract by Health Systems Research, Inc. (HSR) to provide Information Assurance (IA) technical and policy services in support of the American Health Information Community (AHIC) Confidentiality, Security and Privacy Working Group (CPS WG). The AHIC, led by Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Mr. Michael O. Leavitt, is a federally-chartered advisory committee that provides input and recommendations to HHS on how to make health records digital and interoperable, and assure that the privacy and security of those records are protected, in a smooth, market-led way. The CPS WG is a consumer empowerment group comprised of privacy, security, clinical, and technology experts that is charged to make recommendations to the AHIC regarding the protection of personal health information in order to secure trust, and support appropriate interoperable electronic health information exchange.
