November 2006 – A&N Hosts 2nd IAD/SBC Executive Forum A&N Associates, Inc. hosted the 2nd Information Assurance Directorate (IAD) / Small Business Community (SBC) Executive Forum at the Linthicum, MD office on November 21, 2006. The Executive Forum offers the IAD and SBC senior leadership the opportunity for open, direct and unconstrained communications. The Forum is focused on developing a clear understanding of the challenges, direction and needs of IAD leadership, so that the SBC can respond effectively in its collective efforts to support the IAD. The Forum also provides the SBC with an opportunity to explore more effective and efficient means to provide support consistent with the needs of IAD. The keynote speaker for this event was Mr. Richard Schaeffer, Director for the IAD. Mr. Schaeffer offered his views on the near and longer term challenges for the IAD, and how the contracting community, including the SBC, can be an instrumental part in addressing and resolving those challenges. Mr. John Nicolettos, President of A&N, hosted the Forum and facilitated an excellent question and answer session with Mr. Schaeffer and the small business executives who attended the Forum – nearly 40 executives in all. Mr. Nicolettos also provided a presentation on behalf of the SBC, which can be downloaded here. The closing of that presentation recommended that the SBC mobilize itself to provide a stronger voice to, and presence within the IAD. The response to this proposal by the small business executives in attendance was very positive, and efforts are now underway to formalize an association to better represent the SBC to the IAD.
